Boy, 13, identified as victim in Friday night drowning in suburban Palm Beach Gardens

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office today identified a 13-year-old boy as having drowned Friday night in a canal off Alternate A1A in suburban Palm Beach Gardens.

Jefferson Rossen was fishing, climbed a fence for unknown reasons, lost his grip and fell into the water in the area of Hinda Road and Alternate A1A, the sheriff’s office said. Witnesses said Jefferson showed signs of distress and fell beneath the water’s surface.
