Patrick Franklin, president of the Palm Beach County Urban League, supports the immigration reform efforts now before the Congress, but with some trepidation.
“We officially have 20 percent unemployment in the black community, and it’s really even higher than that,” he said. “This reform has to be done in a way that is cognizant of that and assures that people in the black community who want to work, who want the entry-level jobs we’re talking about, will have a chance at those jobs.”
