West Palm Beach is preparing to outsource its Community Redevelopment Agency, and CRA director Kim Briesemeister has already told her staff that a private company she runs in Broward County will bid for the contract.
Sources with knowledge of the situation told The Palm Beach Post that Briesemeister also told the staff she has the support of city commissioners and she believed her company, Redevelopment Management Associates, would win the bid.

What the West Palm Beach Community Redevelopment Agency has done during Kim Briesemeister’s tenure:
- City Center: Built the library and garage component of the the new city hall, which was built by the city.
- Waterfront: Spent $30 million revamping the waterfront including the construction of new docks.
- Northwood Village: Turned a blighted area in Northwood into a shopping and restaurant destination.
- Digital Domain: Gave prime city land at Okeechobee Boulevard and Dixie Highway valued at $10 million, along with $2 million, to a digital animation college to partner with Florida State University. Digital Domain filed for bankruptcy in 2012 and the CRA is looking for a new tenant or buyer at the site.
