Facing a multimillion-dollar budget gap, city commissioners voted Monday to allow a maximum possible property tax rate of $9.35 per $1,000 of taxable value, up from $8.35.
Such a hike, if approved, would add about $100 for every $100,000 of a home’s taxable value, Finance Director Jeff Greene said after Monday’s budget workshop.
