West Palm Beach fires police officer involved in beating

One of three officers whose videotaped 2008 altercation with a handcuffed robber led the city to pay out a $204,000 settlement has been fired, the city confirmed this week.

The Dec. 5 dismissal of Jason Zangara, 40, was unrelated to the confrontation with Pablo Gilberto Valenzuela.
