City commissioners on Monday struck back at Mayor Jeri Muoio for implying that they weren’t being transparent in their process for selling valuable city-owned land at Okeechobee Boulevard and Dixie Highway.
Commissioners last week said that rather than put the property for sale by open bidding, they wanted to first consider several companies that requested confidentiality and and to deal with them privately. Muoio said it was up to the commission but that she preferred a more transparent process.
