A proposal that would allow Port of Palm Beach commissioners to increase their own salaries cleared an early hurdle Wednesday when Palm Beach County’s legislative delegation endorsed a bill that would remove a state law that limits each commissioner’s salary to $9,500 a year.
If the Florida Legislature passes the bill next year, the port commissioners would have the ability to increase their annual salary with a majority vote. The bill does not limit the amount of the increase.
