Fire station No. 2 on Campus Drive is the oldest fire station that has not been substantially updated. It’s also the busiest station in the city, handling about 2,200 fire and rescue calls last year.
Built in 1987, the fire station near Palm Beach State College’s north campus and Palm Beach County’s north courthouse has a leaky roof, cramped quarters and no decontamination room for washing equipment soiled with blood and other biological hazards.
