After a presentation showing that a section of western PGA Boulevard would erode and fail if not elevated, the city council on Thursday voted its support for the state project but urged in a resolution that at least one lane be kept open during construction to ease safety concerns.
The vote and its calm atmospherics came in sharp contrast to a public meeting by the state last month, in which an angry crowd argued that the project was needless and dangerous.
