Palm Beach County Ethics Commissioner Ronald Harbison has resigned from the five-member board after an attorney representing Wellington Mayor Bob Margolis found that he made a $250 political contribution, in violation of the commission’s ethics rules.
Harbison, who had served on the commission since 2010, said Monday that he “made a mistake” in 2011 when he contributed to Republican Adam Hasner’s failed U.S. Senate bid. The county’s rules prohibit ethics commissioners from making political contributions to any local, state or federal campaign.
