Port of Palm Beach Commission Jean Enright, the long-shot Democratic primary challenger to U.S. Rep. Alcee Hastings, D-Miramar, snagged more money from individual donors than the incumbent collected during the most recent fundraising quarter.
But 11-term veteran Hastings enjoyed a comfortable fundraising advantage over Enright during the quarter, and has a big edge in overall dollars. That’s largely due to PAC money which, under the laws of political gravity, flows naturally to incumbents in both parties.
