Palm Beach County will be reimbursed $750,000 it spent this month to keep pre-school programs for low-income families running during the 16-day partial shutdown of the federal government, officials said Thursday.
Assistant County Administrator John Van Arnam said the county learned this week that the federal Office of Head Start would pick up the tab for the programs which serve roughly 2,300 children from infants to age 5.
