City commissioners gave a green light tonight to the La Joya Villages affordable apartment complex planned for Sixth Avenue South by approving a density increase and appearance criteria for the project.
The density bonus will allow La Joya Villages Ltd. to build 55 apartments on the 1.9-acre tract at Sixth Avenue South and South F Street. The density allowed is 30 units per acre, up from the 20 units per acre basic density allowed in the Gateway zoning district.
