Following is Palm Beach County School District Superintendent Wayne Gent’s email sent to school principals Thursday regarding the chief academic officer:
As we review our direction and focus upon student success, I have decided to make an administrative change to match skills and talent to continue to move our District forward. Cheryl Alligood will lead as CAO and Janis Andrews will lead in the area of Professional Development.
Creating a dynamic, meaningful Aspiring Leadership Academy, Leadership Development Program, Common Core PD, along with a useful teacher and administration evaluation program is essential. The tools we have today need to be fine-tuned to meet the State’s challenging timeframe.
Your leadership is to be commended and I want to personally express my gratitude for you and the impact you make. I remain committed to keeping you informed every step of the way. Together we can make this a Flagship District.
