Kindergarten round up is 6-7 p.m. May 16 at the school, 133 Park Road North, Royal Palm Beach. To register children must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1. Two proofs of residence, an original birth certificate, shot records and a physical exam are required. Parents should check the district’s website for boundary information. SEMINOLE RIDGE HIGH
Choral students and groups performed at the Florida Vocal Association south state solo and ensemble assessments held last month at Boynton Beach High. Among soloists, Alexis Rizzolo received an “honors superior” rating and was selected for honors recital. Earning a “superior” were Sidney Clarke-Lequerique, Marlina Karimi and Gabriella Thomas. Scoring “excellent” were Bayleigh Kilpartick and Mairead O’Rourke. The chamber ensemble received a “superior,” and the varsity show choir earned an “excellent.”
Madison Harding received a $1,000 scholarship from the Central Palm Beach County Chamber of Commerce.
Band students recently performed at the Florida Band Assessments state competition in Ocala. Earning “superior with distinction” were: Luis Small and Amanda Vargo, marimba solos; David Caballero and Victoria Osborne, percussion duet. Judged “superior” were: Kyle Burton, trumpet solo; Brenden Cohen, alto saxophone solo; Gianna Cannestro, French horn solo; Shania Leone, flag solo; Cory Sanchez, flute solo; Samantha Morgan, Cory Sanchez and Heather Vargo, flute trio; Craig Buttery, Brenden Cohen, Julie MacDonald, and Joel Zayas, saxophone quartet; Craig Buttery, Kaylee Fagan, Brendan Gearty, Marlina Karimi, Bayleigh Kilpatrick, Christopher Martinez, Samantha Morgan, Stephen Peterson, Sarah Probst, Cory Sanchez, Heather Vargo and Joel Zayas, woodwind choir. Earning “excellent” were: Alanna Brescia, flag solo; Marlina Karimi, clarinet solo and piano solo; Scott Kuczynski, euphonium solo; Jacob Perry, clarinet solo; Emily Brown, Alana Brescia, Sydney Clarke-Lequerique, Cassandra Elliot and Shania Leone, guard ensemble, level I; Nicole Baron, Jamie Chase, Hailey Collins, Stephanie Head, Katelyn Langevin, Suzette Mojica and Cheyenne Perryman, guard ensemble, level II.
THE KING’S ACADEMY
The Fine Arts Department will present Disney’s “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” at 7 p.m. today through Saturday and April 25-27. Matinee performances are scheduled at 1 p.m. Saturday and April 27.
