Palm Beach County school district officials predict ‘significant’ drops in school letter grades under new state system

As school districts across Florida analyze this spring’s test scores, worries are mounting that their schools’ all-important A-to-F grades could plummet this year, thanks to a slew of changes to the state grading formula.

Palm Beach County Schools Superintendent Wayne Gent on Tuesday warned that some schools could see “significant” drops in letter grades despite their students performing better on the FCAT and other standardized tests.
