As expected, the law firm representing a group of Loxahatchee Groves residents who want voters to decide whether Palm Beach State College can build a campus in this historically rural area today filed a lawsuit against the town, compelling the town clerk to show why the issue shouldn’t come to a vote.
“The community has a fundamental right to vote,” said Sarah Hayter, an associate at Robert N. Hartsell, P.A., the Pompano Beach firm who represents the group. “We’re taking the necessary steps to get the vote on the ballot and repeal the ordinances which are illegally blocking our client’s rights.”
