While Florida legislators have committed hundreds of millions of dollars to teacher pay raises next year, Palm Beach County School District officials and teachers remained skeptical Monday about what that really means to their pocketbooks and budget coffers.
“The good thing is … it looks like the governor and the Legislature are willing to do something about teacher pay,” said county school board Chairman Chuck Shaw. But what that something is, he added, “(is) all up in the air right now.”
