The father of a Florida Atlantic University student who was hit by the side mirror of a car being driven by FAU President Mary Jane Saunders during a student protest last month sent a letter to students, faculty, trustees and the media on Sunday saying his daughter deserves an apology from Saunders.
“It is not President Saunders who is owed an apology but rather my daughter, Britni, her fellow student demonstrators and their parents, as well as the entire FAU community for President Saunders’ reckless behavior, her twisting of truths and the audacity to blame others for her poor judgment,” wrote John S. Hiatt, 49, of Wellington.
