Early last Thursday morning, along Melaleuca Lane near Gulfstream Road in suburban Lake Worth, an eastbound school bus stopped and put its red flashing lights and “stop arm” sign out to pick up a load of Starlight Cove Elementary School-bound students.
Several vehicles queued up in the eastbound lanes next to the stopped bus. As two green and white Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office cruisers watched from across the street, the motorists inched forward, itching to go, but managed to restrain themselves from passing the bus.
