Legislation aims to curb Medicare scams

Danny Porush’s crimes were such a big bold enterprise that they became the stuff of the blockbuster movie “The Wolf of Wall Street.” Known as Donnie Azoff in the film, Porush spent 39 months behind bars for crimes committed by him and his business partner, the main character in the film. But that didn’t keep the government from permitting Porush to move into a new line of business: selling medical supplies to Medicare patients through the Boca Raton-based Med-Care Diabetic & Medical Supplies.

The company has been the target of complaints and a Congressional investigation.
