Judge upholds injunction against PIP insurance law

Leon County Circuit Court judge Terry Lewis has ruled against the state a second time, keeping in place an injunction against one of Gov. Rick Scott’s top legislative priorities, a law limiting benefits for Personal Injury Protection auto insurance.

Lewis wrote he understood the “difficulties created” for state regulators and insurance companies but he could find no reason to change his position that parts are the law are unconsitutional.
