The job market improved last month, but at a painfully slow pace that offers slim hope for hundreds of thousands of Floridians who are seeking jobs or have dropped out of the labor force altogether.
Employers added 169,000 positions nationwide in August, a not-so-bad statistic, but the Labor Department on Friday also slashed its tally of jobs created in July to 104,000, down from an original estimate of 162,000.
