A former Boynton Beach Police officer agreed to give up his law enforcement career Monday, in hopes that in a year he’ll be able to permanently escape charges of official misconduct and giving a false official statement.
In a deal with prosecutors, Michael Mulcahy, 30, agreed to surrender his law enforcement certificate over his August 2011 arrest along with fellow officer Michael Arco on charges they lied about how they got into a Boynton Beach motel room to serve a warrant the previous November.
