After a local ethics watchdog group took him to task for saying Palm Beach County Inspector General Sheryl Steckler should be fired, County Administrator Bob Weisman said Wednesday that he is prepared to criticize Steckler’s job performance when a committee meets later this year to evaluate her.
In an email message Wednesday, The Palm Beach County Ethics Defense Alliance, a grassroots group headed by Palm Beach Gardens residents Fred and Iris Scheibl, called on the county’s “ethics activists” to write to county commissioners and urge them to reprimand Weisman for “overstepping his authority.”
