Tequesta woman arrested for reckless driving, drugs in village

A 31-year-old woman was arrested this month after a citizen called Tequesta police to report a reckless driver who was almost hitting other cars and objects, according to the department’s Facebook page.

Police found Carolyn Ann Moore, of Tequesta, shortly before 8 p.m. Oct. 8 at the Stop & Shop Food Shop on Seabrook Road north of Tequesta Drive. She was with a man, and both were standing by a black Chrysler four-door sedan, according to a Tequesta police report.

She was erratic, police said in the report, and appeared to be under the influence of drugs.

A K9 was called to the scene to do a narcotics search of the vehicle, which turned up five syringes, crack cocaine, crystal methamphetamine, oxycodone, Xanax and drug paraphernalia, police said.

Moore was arrested on 14 drug-related charges, in addition to a driving under the influence charge, jail records show.

She was taken to Jupiter Medical Center for injuries to her face and arms before being taken to the Palm Beach County Jail, according to a Tequesta police report.

Moore was released from the jail Oct. 9 but will be supervised, according to jail records.
