The battle over whether former John Goodman trial juror Dennis DeMartin should go to jail is officially shaping up to be an epic fight between a judge, prosecutors and two attorneys that just this week came to DeMartin’s defense.
Circuit Judge Jeffrey Colbath last week threw out Goodman’s DUI manslaughter conviction and 16-year prison sentence in the death of Scott Patrick Wilson because of the actions of the 69-year-old Delray Beach retiree, who among other missteps, failed to tell the court during jury selection about a DUI arrest his ex-wife had which he attributed to the failure of their marriage.
