Three people were arrested in connection with a shooting that sent one man to the hospital Wednesday morning, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
Two men and one woman face charges of armed robbery and attempted homicide in connection to the shooting, sheriff’s spokeswoman Teri Barbera said. As of Wednesday evening, none of those involved were identified by investigators.
The man who was shot was taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach and is expected to survive, according to the sheriff’s office.
Just before noon, deputies were called to the Burger King on the 200 block of North Dixie Highway, north of Lucerne Avenue. At the scene, deputies found possible evidence of a shooting but no victim. The parking lot and area around the restaurant were closed off with police tape as investigators documented the scene.
Soon afterward, deputies learned an injured man left the area to the 1600 block of South Federal Highway. The man, who also has not been identified, was found with a gunshot wound and taken to St. Mary’s.
It’s unclear what may have lead up to the shooting or if the three people arrested knew the man who was shot.
It was the fourth confirmed recent shooting in the city. Before the shooting Wednesday, a 23-year-old Curtis Clark Jr., was shot and killed on the 1000 block of 15th Avenue South on Sept. 16. On Aug 14, another man was shot on 10th Avenue and North A Street but taken to St. Mary’s.
