Accusations of misconduct that led to a drop in robbery charges against a Worth Avenue jeweler has sparked outrage from the former prosecutor in the case, who today said the whole thing was a mistake her former employers never bothered to clear up.
The Palm Beach County State Attorney’s Office on Friday announced it was dropping charges against Vernon Lee Havens after his defense attorney Greg Morse alleged that former Assistant State Attorney Angela Miller, the lead prosecutor in the case, lied under oath in January about whether she had ever met with a lawyer for the state’s star witness.
