Saying a Palm Beach County sheriff’s deputy was just doing his job, a federal jury today cleared the officer of wrongdoing for slapping an emergency room nurse in handcuffs when she ignored his request to draw blood from a drunken driving suspect.
“We’re supposed to work together to help each other,” said juror Iris Tharp, of Jupiter. “It wasn’t a frivolous request he was making.”
