At least two of the nine suspected illegal immigrants who survived the swim to Palm Beach’s shores Wednesday attempted to take a cab off the island before authorities caught up with them, Palm Beach Police spokesman Fred Hess said.
“It’s not uncommon. If they’re coming, they have somebody to contact once they get on land,” said Palm Beach police spokesman Fred Hess.
