The ruling that overturned a DUI manslaughter conviction and 16-year prison sentence for Wellington polo mogul John Goodman brings with it a host of new questions surrounding one of Palm Beach County’s biggest trials.
Circuit Judge Jeffrey Colbath on Friday vacated Goodman’s convictions because of juror misconduct from Dennis DeMartin. The 69-year-old retired accountant held back from lawyers during jury selection his first-ex-wife’s 1997 DUI arrest — an incident he attributed to the downfall of the marriage.
