Before a jury left a courtroom Monday to begin deciding whether to convict a former Delray Beach city commissioner Charlotte Durante of running a $1.8 million Ponzi scheme, a judge inquired about the health of one of the jurors.
“How are you feeling?” Palm Beach County Circuit Judge Charles Burton asked the juror who had complained of feeling poorly last week. Misunderstanding the question, the juror answered: “Confident.” Apparently, the other five jurors felt the same.
