It’s ironic that former Boca Raton councilman Dave Freudenberg has been vanquished from the inner circle controlling the Boca Raton Airport.
It was Freudenberg, when he was head of the Boca Raton Pilots Association 15 years ago, who led the push to get a control tower at the airport for safety reasons. And it was Freudenberg this year who was the lone voice on the seven-member airport board to suggest that the airport authority didn’t need federal support to keep the tower running during Washington’s budget stalemate.
