The Boca Raton Airport Authority’s governing board voted unanimously Wednesday to sue the Federal Aviation Administration in a last-ditch effort to prevent the shut-off of funding for the airport’s control tower.
The FAA in February listed Boca’s airport and Martin County’s Witham Field among 189 small airports across the country slated to lose their control towers as a result of the federal cuts, known as the sequester. Last month the FAA released a final list of 149 towers that will close.
