Officials at the Boca Raton Airport and Martin County’s Witham Field received a temporary reprieve on Friday when the Federal Aviation Administration announced it would delay closing both facilities’ air traffic control towers until June 15.
Federal aviation officials announced last month that the agency would close air traffic control towers at 149 small airports across the country as a result of forced federal budget cuts, known as the sequester.
