The Boca Raton Airport Authority said today that it has done everything it can to convince federal official to remove its air traffic control tower from a list of facilities slated for closure as a result of federal budget cuts.
The 12-year-old tower is one of 189 the Federal Aviation Administration plans to close as forced federal budget cuts, known as the sequester, take effect. The vast majority of towers are slated to shut down April 7. The remaining towers would close by Sept. 30.
