A circuit judge will wait until next Tuesday to consider a trash-hauling firm’s request for an injunction to block the Solid Waste Authority from awarding four multimillion-dollar trash collection contracts, even though Palm Beach County commissioners may sign off on the deal Wednesday.
Waste Pro of Florida, Inc. sued the authority Monday, alleging that it should not have been disqualified from bidding on contracts to collect waste in the county’s unincorporated areas. The company is seeking an emergency injunction to prevent county commissioners, who sit as the authority’s governing board, from approving the contracts.
