Authorities have filed criminal complaints against some of the migrants who came ashore in Boca Raton last Thursday and fled in two waiting vehicles before being chased and caught by officers.
According to probable cause affidavits, border patrol and local police agencies were able to apprehend 11 people — the boat’s captain, the two getaway vehicle drivers and eight migrants, four of whom had previously been deported from the U.S. Eight of the 11 people are Brazilian nationals, one is from the Dominican Republic, one from Jamaica and the boat’s operator, Roberto Luis Gonzalez-Perez, is from Cuba, the documents say.
