Are you single and ready to mingle? If so, these are the best cities for you.
According to a new study by WalletHub, 45 percent of adults in the United States are unmarried. To help singles find love, WalletHub’s analysts looked at more than 180 cities across the U.S. and compared them on 32 key factors such as dating-friendliness, share of single population, online dating opportunities and more.
In Florida, the top five cities were: Tampa (11); Orlando (27); Tallahassee (41); Miami (49) and St. Petersburg (67).
Other Florida cities that ranked were: Fort Lauderdale (86); Jacksonville (98); Port St. Lucie (146); Cape Coral (166); Hialeah (179) and Pembroke Pines (180).
San Francisco, Atlanta and Los Angeles were the top three cities for singles overall.
So, should you pack up and move to one of these cities for your chance at love?
Theresa E. DiDonato, an associate professor of psychology at Loyola University Maryland who helped with this study, suggests picking a city that matches your interests and is populated with singles.
“Research consistently shows that people tend to be attracted to similar others, so it makes sense to choose a city that reflects your own values and interest,” DiDonato wrote on the subject.
