National anthem auditions today for West Palm spring training games

1. National anthem auditions. Auditions are today to perform the “The Star-Spangled Banner” at a Houston Astros or Washington Nationals spring training game at Ballpark of the Palm Beaches. The song must be performed a cappella as a traditional rendition and last one minute and 30 seconds or shorter. The auditions are from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Arrive at 10 a.m. to sign in, at Center Court near Nike Factory and Tommy Hilfiger at Palm Beach Outlets, 1751 Palm Beach Lakes Blvd. For information call Palm Beach Outlets at 561-515-4400 or visit the website, www.palmbeachoutlets.com.

2. Palm Beach Dramaworks. On Golden Pond opens at Palm Beach Dramaworks on Feb. 2 and continues through Feb. 25, with specially priced previews on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1.

Evening performances are Wednesday and Thursday at 7:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and select Sundays at 7 p.m. Matinee performances are on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday at 2 p.m. Individual tickets are $75, with specially priced preview tickets at $55 and Opening Night tickets at $90.

Student tickets are available for $15, and Pay Your Age tickets are available for those 18-40. Tickets for educators are half price with ID. Group rates for 20 or more and discounted season subscriptions are also available. 3. Forum Club. The Forum Club of the Palm Beaches will host U.S. Department of Labor Secretary Alexander Acosta, former U.S. Attorney for South Florida, for a noon luncheon on Monday, Feb. 5, at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts – Cohen Pavilion, 701 Okeechobee Blvd. Acosta will discuss Trump Administration’s efforts to create a more business-friendly environment and what impacts their agenda will have on areas like ours.
