West Palm Beach crash leaves one dead

Investigators had no immediate answers for why a driver lost control of a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer and hit a tree in West Palm Beach, dying at the scene Sunday.

Jeffrey A. Cordon, 19, was traveling south on Military Trail and for unknown reasons lost control south of Cresthaven Boulevard before 4 a.m., the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said. The driver was ejected and was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

A passenger, Osman A. Tombes Lopez, 18, of Lake Worth, suffered minor injuries, authorities said.
