Wellington ‘Idol’ now a contestant on NBC’s ‘The Voice’


One year after she was crowned Wellington’s “Idol,” Lexi Luca is competing on Season 6 of NBC’s “The Voice.” Judge Blake Shelton chose the 17-year-old Wellington resident for his team, after she sang a rendition of “Wasting All These Tears” by Season 3 Voice winner Cassadee Pope, also a Wellington native. Luca is expected to sing during the finals for this year’s “Wellington Idol” contest Saturday at the Wellington Amphitheater, 12100 Forest Hill Blvd. The event starts at 7:30 p.m.
