Wellington Community Center to feature work of local artist

The new Wellington Community Center will have a little more beauty on the inside.

The Wellington Art Society is featuring the paintings of local artist Deborah Bigeleisen at its meeting Wednesday in the Community Center. The meet and greet will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by a short meeting, Bigeleisen’s presentation and a raffle.

Bigeleisen’s oil and acrylic paintings often contract warm and cold colors, according to a news release from the Art Society.

Originally from Los Angeles, Bigeleisen got her degree in textiles from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. She opened her own global print design company in Manhattan, which she closed in 1998 when she moved to Florida.

Bigeleisen is an adjunct professor of art at Palm Beach State College and conducts international art fair tours.

She’s also a member of the National Association of Women Artists, the Cultural Council of Palm Beach County and Soroptimist International, the release said.
