Breaking: Sinkhole opens outside Trump’s Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach

UPDATE: Wellington home significantly damaged in early-morning fire

A townhouse in the Palm Beach Polo community took heavy damage after a fire partially collapsed its roof, according to Palm Beach County Fire-Rescue.

An investigator has been called to the scene, according to fire-rescue officials. They will determine what caused the early-morning blaze.

The fire started before 5 a.m. in a townhouse in the 11000 block of Wimbledon Circle, which is near the Forest Hill Boulevard entrance of the gated community.

Firefighters reported they could see flames from the roof, and reported a partial collapse of that roof. Smoke could be smelled from as far as Stribling Way, near the Mall at Wellington Green.

The fire is one of Wellington’s biggest since a 2015 fire in a vacant building caused $100,000 in damage.
