Trump in Palm Beach: President and family begin holiday at Mar-a-Lago

President Donald Trump arrived at Mar-a-Lago at 6:29 p.m. after leaving Washington aboard Air Force One just before 4 p.m.  

Before boarding a flight to Palm Beach International Airport, the president pardoned the national turkey and then stated support for embattled GOP U.S. Senate candidate Roy Moore.

He appeared energized by a crowd of more than 100 supporters who welcomed him and first lady Melania Trump at PBIA. Trump’s visit is his first trip to his Palm Beach estate since April.

Meanwhile, a tableau of U.S. politics played out along Southern Boulevard as the presidential motorcade carried him to Mar-a-Lago. The president will be in Palm Beach through Sunday for the Thanksgiving holiday.

6:29 p.m.: The Trump motorcade arrived at Mar-a-Lago.

6:25 p.m.: Southern Boulevard has reopened.

6:23 p.m.: Commercial flights have resumed but are now using northeast runway - a sore spot for quiet neighborhoods along the coast. 

6:20 p.m.:

6:13 p.m.: No helicopter tonight. Presidential motorcade about to leave PBIA.

6:09 p.m.: Presidents continues shaking hands and signing autographs

6:04 p.m.: I-95 ramps at Southern Boulevard shut down. 

5:58 p.m.: Southern Boulevard now closed.  

5:57 p.m.: As the president shakes hands, question remains: Will he use the helicopter or armored car?

4:12 p.m.: According to White House pool reports, President Trump boarded Air Force One at 3:38 p.m. with First Lady Melania Trump and son Barron Trump waving to onlookers at Andrews Air Force Base.

Air Force One left Washington at 3:42 p.m.

4:06 p.m.: 

3:51 p.m.: Armed military pontoon boats are now on the intracoastal waterway near Mar-a-Lago. 

1:12 p.m.:  President Trump just pardoned the presidential turkeys, Drumstick and Wishbone. On to Palm Beach. Air Force One is expectd to leave about 3 p.m.

12:15 p.m.:

11:45 a.m.: Protestors in West Palm Beach near the Southern Boulevard bridge are rallying to ask President Donald Trump to keep the Temporary Protected Status for immigrant workers.

9:57 a.m.: Effective immediately, checkpoints have been established and road closures are now in effect for all forms of travel on South Ocean Blvd from the intersection of South County Road to Southern Blvd. Checkpoints are located at Southern Blvd. at the Bath and Tennis Circle and also at South Ocean Blvd and South County Rd. Seek alternate routes.
