THINGS TO DO: Chili cook-off, ‘epic’ brunch in Gardens this weekend

For $5, you can sample all the chili at North Palm Beach’s Hot Cars & Chili cookoff.

The new Avocado Grill at Downtown at the Gardens will debut its brunch.

HOT CARS AND CHILI

Come hungry to sample the chili at a chili cook-off and car show Saturday at Anchorage Park, 603 Anchorage Drive, in North Palm Beach. For $5, you can sample all of the chili from noon to 4 p.m. Registration for the car show is 9 a.m. to noon. Food, drinks and raffle prizes will be available. Vote for your favorite chili.

LILLY FOR CHARITY

A traveling Heart Gallery of some of the 102 children waiting for adoption in Palm Beach County will be on display during a Shop & Share at the Lilly Pulitzer at The Gardens Mall. The store will give 10 percent of sales between noon and 5 p.m. Saturday to supporting children in the foster care system, specifically through the Children’s Home Society.

The Children’s Home Society provides adoption services, group homes and shelters for runaways and troubled teens, along with family counseling and support for foster families.

BRUNCH PARTY

The Avocado Grill is bringing its “epic brunch party” to its new spot in Palm Beach Gardens from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. Enjoy $5 glasses of rosé, $7 bloody Marys and mimosas, food specials and music by DJ Adam Lipson at the grill in Downtown at the Gardens. Be sure to make a reservation, though.
