Outdoor market place opens Sunday in Jupiter

Local produce to be sold at Jupiter outdoor market

The Jupiter Farmers Market opens Sunday at the El Sol Neighborhood Resource Center.

The outdoor market plans to open every Sunday from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the center at the southwest corner of Indiantown Road and Military Trail, next to Jupiter Town Hall.

Admission is free and open to the public. Dogs on a leash are welcome. The event is planned rain or shine and parking is free.

Opening for its second year, the market is expected to have more than 30 local vendors offering local artisan foods, flavored oils and vinegars, pastries, guacamole, specialty sauces, all-natural popsicles and imported cheeses and locally roasted coffee.

A farm stand breakfast café will serve omelets.

A selection of orchids, bromeliads and container gardens from nearby nurseries and bouquets of fresh-cut flowers also are planned to be on sale.

“You can taste the difference of locally grown produce. Fruits and vegetables picked at their peak have the highest nutritional content,” said Peter Robinson, managing director of the Jupiter Farmers Market. Robinson also manages an outdoor marketplace in Lake Worth.
