Crews are conducting a prescribed burn today in the J.W. Corbett Wildlife Management Area, according to a Palm Beach County Fire Rescue spokesman.

About 7,000 acres will be burned at the preserve, which is northwest of The Acreage.

Corbett’s northwest side borders Beeline Highway, where people may see “significant smoke,” said Fire Rescue Capt. Albert Borroto.

Palm Beach County Department of Environmental Resources Management crews conducted another prescribed burn in the western communities last week at the Royal Palm Beach Pines Natural Area.
