A proposal for 33 luxury townhouses on A1A, within walking distance to DuBois Park, is scheduled for a final vote at Tuesday’s 7 p.m. town council meeting.
The 2,000-square-foot units at Inlet Waters are expected to start at under $700,000. The developer is Larry Wright, who built the Ocean Breeze townhouse development on the west side of U.S. 1 south of Juno Beach Park in Juno Beach.
Inlet Waters is planning seven two-story buildings along with a private marina with five docks. Two buildings would be on the Jupiter River and two fronting A1A. A pool and the other three buildings would be in the center of the property. Entry/exit would be from A1A.
Inlet Waters would be on four acres of vacant land on the west side of A1A in the town’s Inlet Village. Known as the Rathke property, from the family who has owned it for years, it is just north of Jupiter River Estates mobile home park.
Proponents say more residential development will boost business in the Inlet Village. The three-quarter mile stretch of A1A from Beach Road north to U.S. 1 is dotted with restaurants, offices, kayak rentals and a public dock.
Opponents of Inlet Waters say the townhouses will bring too much traffic and congestion.

Dogs are now allowed to walk without a leash in Jupiter parks as long as they are under voice control, which means they respond to voice orders from their owners.
The proposal calls for dogs to be on a leash when they are in dog parks. Once the dogs enter the fenced-in areas designated for dogs, they can be taken off their leashes.
Cinquez Park includes a 2-acre wetlands area and will have about 70 parking spaces. The work is being done by Lake Worth-based West Construction.
Cinquez Park is planned to be free and open to the public. The park is scheduled to be open daily from 7:30 a.m. to sunset.
The leash proposal has nothing to do with Dog Beach, the 2-mile stretch north of Marcinski Road where dogs are allowed to roam without leashes.
